“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Romani community is faced with numerous challenges in education, starting with enrollment in public education, combatting prejudice and bigotry, and building a greater cultural emphasis on education as a means of self-elevation. Until recently, many Roma sent their children to schools only until the age of ten to keep them from being exposed to alien practices and teachings.

In addition to these basic needs for youth, the Rromani Council is working to establish on-line voting registration drives, as well as educational seminars and adult learning.
