Cooperation and Communication
building community…
Most Gypsies are at least bilingual, speaking the language of the country in which they live as well as some dialect of the Romani language. Still, different subgroups within the Romani community are prevalent, due to geographic roots, migration patterns and remnants of the ancient Hindu caste system that further alienates many Roma people.
Rroma Council has extended its reach to all subgroups with the community, in an effort to build further cohesion and strength through shared traditions and life experiences. By facilitating meaningful dialogues internally, we have been able to coalesce many of the factions of Romani people, and continue to build those bridges of communication.
